Thanksgiving - All Mom's Grandchildren (Nov. 26, 2009) : Mom doesn't get too many chances to see her half-dozen grandchildren together, so today's Turkey Day gathering was a treat. Fine company and excellent food too, from turkey to chocolate pecan and apple pies, mostly thanks to Jacki and Katharine but with honorable mention to Kevin for his unique sour-cream-free corn pudding.

Grand Cayman - March 8-15, 2009 : In the excellent company of my mother, my wife and my daughter, I spent an excellent week in our old favorite, Grand Cayman, where we rented a condo on Seven-Mile Beach, north of the hotel bustle. Daughter and I enjoyed some excellent small-group dives with Seasports, whose little boat picks you up and drops you off right at your beach. They took some nice pictures, which you can find on their website, of our dives to Trinity Caves, Chain Reef, Orange Canyon and Holiday Inn Drop-off.

While my mother chilled by the beach, we three youngsters sailed on a Red Sails catamaran to Stingray City on Thursday, with two fun snorkeling stops at which we used, for the first time, the Underwater setting on my little Olympus hiking camera. I survived a vicious attack by a band of stingrays, which my talented daughter captured in several snaps.

We enjoyed some fine meals at old favorites such as the Calypso Grill (world's best Sticky Toffee Pudding) , Neptune, Lighthouse and the Reef Grill and a new favorite - Blue at the Ritz. Daughter departed for her second Spring Break destination on Friday and the three of us enjoyed a glorious sunset and dinner at the Grand Old House, Saturday night.
